Is the Lord working in YOUR heart?

Well, is He? If not, WHY not? If so, then WHAT is HE doing? I think that many times we THINK the Lord is working, but in fact, He’s not! That is evident when we have no clue as to WHAT He is doing.  So, think about it…..Is the Lord working in your heart? If so, write out WHAT He is doing. Go tell your Pastor, tell your Sunday School teacher, send me an email (christy@billyingram.org).  If He’s NOT working, ask him TO make you willing to let Him work in your heart!  Don’t go through the day without asking yourself “Is the Lord working in MY heart!”

The Chart House

2009 034Pastor and Mrs. Bishop took us to eat on the Potomac River at the Chart House.  What a treat!!! This is a pretty fancy restaurant in Alexandria, VA (I had read about it before).  The day was beautiful making the scenery outstanding.  We absolutely LOVE spending time here with the Bishops. It has been such a blessing to know them for all of our years in Evangelism. Click the “Read More” tab for another pic.

Mesa the Explorer

Bringing back vivid fond memories of my ‘exploring’ days, Mesa found a turtle.  In the city no less.  My turtle’s name was Wilbur and I remember watching him grow and grow.  One day we painted him so we’d know who he was.  He was killed by a car when I was in college, sad, huh? Of course, I had to release him when I was a little girl before leaving on a trip, but he stayed around.  Mesa’s turtle did not stay around, but when she found him she was sooooo excited.  She ran around Billy hopping until Billy went to see what the commotion was about.  It was hard to get a ’still’ photo as Mesa would bark and bounce back from it.  But here is what I did capture.

to Janna

2009 293Thanks for reading my blog!  It was nice spending time with you. I’ve been wanting to do that for awhile.  Anyway, I wanted you to know that I’ve ‘back-posted’, so, you’ll need to go back and read the updates! Actually, if you’re NOT Janna, you’ll need to go back as well.  I’d love to hear from you anytime!

West Virginia

2009 302I never really wanted to pull our trailer into West Virginia, but here we are.  It wasn’t so bad after all, but I sure anticipated the worst.  But how sad it would have been if we didn’t follow the Lord’s leading here to Independent Baptist Church, Kingwood, WV (by the way, I think ALL Independent Fundamental churches should have this name :) .  You don’t have to wonder who/what they are! I have met new friends here.  I don’t mean ‘aquaintence’ kind, I mean the kind of people you’ll be friends with for life.  Pastor and Mrs. Cumberland were in Starke, FL for awhile too (I didn’t know them then though).  It was a blessing to go sight seeing with them and the Marshall’s. What a beautiful state.  It reminds me of North Georgia, so, it’s like home!

Wildwood Christan Retreat (Men’s Retreat)

2009 290If you’ve never been there…it’s a good idea to schedule for next year. What a beautiful place! But that’s not the most important. What a great place to go to hear God’s Word! Of course, this year, Billy was preaching, but after meeting the Marshall’s I am sure that God’s hand is upon this place. They really want to see churches return back to where they aught to be. So, for that, the Teen and Junior camps are geared mainly for the Church kids (but unsaved are welcome too.) Which I think is needed today as we are in a dirth for godly Christian kids (that doesn’t even sound right, does it?) Anyway, it’s a neat place and I encourage you to go 2010. www.wildwoodchristianretreat.org

Our visit with Tracy (Mesa’s Therapist :)

2009 266Ha! Doesn’t that sound funny?  But it’s true, this is who did Mesa’s therapy! Mesa LOVES Tracy.  She was so disappointed when she didn’t see her in August at her last appointment. So, we returned for a visit.  We hope to see Tracy again soon!  Maybe she’ll ‘vacation’ with us somewhere in America….we’ve told her she could come anytime!

Our visit with Dr. Hettlich (and her family)

2009 232Our last visit (for 2009) went VERY well.  We finally met her mom and sister! We love them much.  They also had 3 friend from Germany with them that spoke NO English.  Mesa was sooooo excited to see Dr. Hettlich (as were we).  We had 2 delicious German desserts with coffee and home-made whipped cream.  Very nice!  I had picked up some German tracks from Ann Arbor while there and we were able to pass those along to them too.  I was so excited to find something written in their language (although they speak great English).  The friends seemed to enjoy them too.

My teacher

2009 219Cassandra was my first Sunday School teacher when we went to Falls Baptist in Menomonee Falls, WI.  I learned so much from her (which she didn’t know til this week).  She’s still the same ‘ole Cassandra and for that, I’m thankful for her.  She has been such an encouragement to me as I’ve grown in the Lord. It’s nice to re-kindle old friendships and to know that they remain stedfast.
