BILLY’S FIRST TURKEY

IMG00059-20100323-1851Praise the Lord!!!  Billy killed his 1st turkey along side my Daddy in Alabama.  It weighed about 22lbs and was the best eatin’ turkey ever!  We had family over the following Monday for a turkey feast!  Mesa has even enjoyed it as a ‘treat’!

The special trip was with a dear friend of ours from Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Athens, GA (Kris Stephens).  They met over in AL for a 3 day hunt at some family property of Kris’s.  What a great time they had together!

GA meeting

It was  a 3-day meeting in north Gainesville and it was a blessing.  More so, I think, for us, the Pastor and his wife though.  Each night a neighboring church brought their choir with them so it helped a lot with the crowd.  These kinds of meetings are hard for Billy though because there is no real progression of truth.  As a result, he preached ‘one shot’ messages.  They were a blessing, but not as helpful (in my opinion) as a week-long revival!  Pray for Pastor Hatcher and his wife as they continue to serve faithfully at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Tiffany Update, Farmington, NM

As I mentioned a few days ago, many of you know that the Corley’s daughter, Tiffany was diagnosed with Lymphoma last year after we left.  It was during that week that Debbie had taken her to several doctors for diagnosis (which they thought was a dental issue).  Tiffany has been through a lot (as well as the rest of the family.) There have been numerous trips to Alburquerque, NM (over 3 hours away) and many occasions where the rest of the children helped out all around!  The Lord has brought them all through a great ‘trying’ time and WOW the Lord is refining them in such a special way.  Keep praying for Tif (and all of the family) as they continue through the second year of treatment!

Farmington, NM

We are so thankful for the opportunity to see our friends/family Pastor Burson and Debbie Corley!  The Lord truly gave us a wonderful time serving Him together.  College Heights Baptist Church has grown unmeasurably the last several years and it is such an encouragement to come along side of them and serve with them and grow!  We had a sweet Pastor’s fellowship on Monday PM and Tuesday where we met several men and wives who were great blessings.  Praise the Lord for men of God who will serve unapologetically.  What a refreshment!

Farmington, NM

WE’RE HERE!!!!  I can’t believe that we have the opportunity to be back in Farmington, NM again.  It is good to see Tiffany (diagnosed with Lymphoma when we were here last year)! And good to see all our other little buddies (including the big ones!) I’ll post a picture as soon as I can round them all up!

Crooked Creek extension

Our Tuesday night meeting went well.  It was an informal testimony/question/answer/song/rejoicing service.  Unique. It was a true blessing to meet again with our dear friends and once again see what the Lord can and will do with a body of believers that will just trust Him.

Crooked Creek, Athens, GA

We made it home safe to Georgia!  Just in time for the 9-day meeting at Crooked Creek.  The Lord has done something tremendous here this week and I’d like to ask you to pray.  The leadership was unsure about closing the meeting as they hadn’t seen what they thought God wanted to do through the meetings.  But last night the Lord really met with us through the testimony time and preaching, that they felt like we would meet again on Tuesday.  Giving Monday ‘off’ for personal reasons, they made Tuesday night a ‘no pressure’ type of meeting. Which meant that they shouldn’t feel obligated to come, but as the Lord led they would come.  I am personally praying the building will be packed out!  Will you pray with me?
