Visit with Wendy and kids

What a surprise…Wendy and 3 of her wonderful kids came to visit us in GA this week (well, really they came to visit Mama and Daddy) but nevertheless, I got the chance to see them.  Jeremy, Cayla and Cady had a great time fishing with ‘Grady’.  I had a wonderful time singing with Wendy in church Wednesday night…..what GREAT memories.  Wish we would’ve taped it!

believe this or not……

My parent’s transformer box was ‘hit’ by lightening on Monday! Billy and I were not at the house, but we were stuck up town getting some things worked on on Billy’s cell phone. So, we waited out the bad storm at the mall. However, my parents said that the lightening and noise was so terrible! Mesa couldn’t get close enough to my dad though. We were just glad everyone was ok! We made it home just in time to take these pictures and to see the lights turned back on!

home from West Virginia

Billy made is safely ‘home’ (well, really our home is in the shop, but he made it back to where I am).  He had GREAT reports from camp…maybe he’ll update his side so you can read all the details.  Even today we have heard from several Pastors that the teens have returned home ‘on fire’ and that God has used them in their churches already!!!  Very exciting!

no brakes

We really aren’t trying to outdo the last trailer saga (I should write a book called that) but we drove home this weekend with NO BRAKES!  Can you believe it?  So, today, my Daddy helped me take the trailer back to the repair shop here in GA to have them do any and everything they see that needs work in regards to the lightening strike! Keep praying for traveling mercies!!!

California – Servant’s

Many of you have asked my thoughts on the California trip.  My first thought to you is…’You must go and see for yourself’.  But as I think more about it….that is my only thought….’you must go’.  I am mostly amazed at their servant’s hearts.  Have you been to the store before and asked the clerk where to find something?  What usually happens?  Yes, that’s happened to me before too…they just point to some obscure corner of the store and say ‘It’s over there to your left just a little bit on aisle 9′.  Then, they are off to do what they were doing before you so rudely interrupted them.  At this conference, if I was asked once, I was asked several times, if there was anything i needed or could they help me with something or let me show you where that is.  From the ushers, to the greeters, to the staff…ALL seemed to have servant’s hearts.  I am SURE that these are busy folk, the size of the place indicates that they are busy, but I think they see more than just being busy….they see people!  WOW, imagine that….seeing people instead of ‘projects’ or ‘programs’ or our own agenda’s.  I’m sure behind the scenes there was a little scurry or last minute ‘copy’ to get, but in all Lancaster Baptist Church has been taught the importance of people.  Praise the Lord! I have been challenged to set aside what I’m doing and just help others.

my first time in California

Today I stepped foot for the first time in CALIFORNIA!  My first thought is that it looked and felt much like a foreign country.  But now, we are traveling with sweet friends, the Hardy’s, and they have made it quite enjoyable.  We are here to attend the Leadership Conference at Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, CA (home of West Coast Baptist College).  Our first night went well…the place is HUGE!  Praise the Lord for what He is doing and has done through this ministry here!

Stillwater, OK

Sunday was our first time back in Stillwater, OK.  Feels like home really, but we are so excited to spend some time here with Pastor and Mrs. Hardy and all our dear friends at Bible Baptist Church.  Check out their website if you get a chance…stillchurch.com.  Their new theme is really neat about ’still’ being a CHURCH!

Mesa’s road trip to GA

My parents were able to come to Oklahoma to pick up Mesa for us.  It has been quite the few weeks having her cooped up.  Although, not too bad as the last 2 Pastors seemed to like her.  The Tunnells in Clovis even let her come over to their house each evening which was such a blessing for us in going to sleep.  Anyway, the Lord allowed my parents to be able to come and see the work that the Lord is doing in Stillwater at Bible Baptist Church.  They didn’t get to stay long, but we are so thankful they were able to help us out!

typing from a new MAC

Yes, that’s right….this is the first post posted on the new MAC that the church in Lubbock gave us.  WHAT A HUGE BLESSING.  We have been praying for a new computer, but specifically a Mac for about 3 years now and here it is!  We are rejoicing and wanted to share with you how good God is!  Many of you remember that our computer crashed about a year ago and recently we lost all sound (and had several people try to restore it, but to no avail).  Isn’t it neat to have a need…trust God for it….and see that need met?  Well, it really is!

Lubbock, TX

What a blessing to have our first meeting in Texas!  We have seen God work in a great way among the staff here at Bethany Baptist Church.  First of all, they were already on the same ‘page’, but through the revival the Lord, I believe, has knit their hearts together for revival! They began reading some books together that will help them on this pilgrimage .  We sure thank the Lord for this meeting with Pastor Aaron Denson.  We know that we will have a friend in this Pastor and we are thankful for men who will stand firm on ‘old-fashioned’ standards and truths.  What a blessing!
