Have you ever thought about the first few words to the verses in Psalms 23? ‘The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want’. Seriously, if the Lord IS my Shepherd I shall NOT want? If the Lord is MY Shepherd I SHALL not want? Any way the verse is emphasized we should not be in want if the LORD is our Shepherd. Why then do I consistently want? Maybe because I’m not allowing the Lord to be my Shepherd…..because in verse 3 it tells me ‘HE restores my soul’. Therin is where I find rest. Allowing Him to lead, guide and direct my innermost desires will be fulfilled and sustained beyond imagination.

Men’s Advance

In case you are wondering why I am helping my mom….Billy and my Dad were able to attend the Men’s Advance in Stillwater, OK (Bible Baptist Church, Pastor Wayne Hardy). It was my dads first time going and he says he enjoyed it!! Dr. Bill Rice III (Bill Rice Ranch, Murfreesboro, TN) was the keynote speaker! What a blessing for them to be able to go! Start planning now to attend next year with Billy…he would enjoy having you along! (www.stillwaterbbc.com)

Collecting things?

Whatever it is in your closet, kitchen, bathroom that you are collecting….STOP IT! Wether it’s the ties on the bread bag, plastic grocery bags, used aluminum foil, straws, plasticware, bottles of lotion, shampoo, ANYTHING….just STOP IT! I have had the joy of helping several people in my life clean out and organize different rooms in their houses and there is a pattern….we ALL collect something. For me, it’s paper…paper clutter. You’ve heard of it. I have the hardest time dealing with paper. I used to collect toiletry items (shampoo/lotions, etc). I would like a kind for awhile then see something new that might work better or different and before I knew it, I had a bathtub and cabinet FULL of bottles. Want to know what I did? I sold them in a yard sale (I read that in a yard sale book and sure enough they ALL sold and those were the first things I sold). I once helped someone who collected plastic bags all neatly folded up EVERYWHERE in her stuff. I mean it, when she passed away they were everywhere. This week I’ve helped my mom in her kitchen…oh my stars, she collects a little bit of everything. From napkins at Subway to straws to decorative paper plates (unused, but still…I have paper plates for EVERY occasion that I just organized). They will NEVER purchase paper plates again (unless I divie them out to my sisters ; ). So, do yourself (and your loved ones) a favor STOP COLLECTING THINGS. PLEASE!

Time with Family

Toilet seat covers

Rant and rave all you want but I LOVE THEM! I don’t think I went in ANY restroom out west that didn’t have them. Now, back east I can’t find them at all ; (. I’m even impressed that churches had them. It is convenient and more sanitary. Plus there is no frustrating wrestling match with the stupid toilet paper dispenser that only lets you get one small 3×3 square when you need at least 6….aughhhh! So, today I am voting for a law to go into effect that toilet seat covers be a MUST! It is the simple things in life for which I am very thankful.

We have loved being in the different churches here in Southern CA! Praise the Lord at what He is doing here on this beautiful west coast. I pray we will have many opportunities to fellowship with these sweet servants. I am sharpened by each of them.

Wonderful morning service with Pastor and Mrs Obero. Dr. Hardy preached. We already love these sweet people. We have had several sweet times of fellowship over the last few days.
